Latest 'Panga' in MANIT - request for details

Hi folks,
Does anyone have details about the latest 'Panga' involving MANIT students, heard from some sources that as many as 9 students are in police remand. They have been charged under IPC 307.
I have heard of some faculty members being involved in the same.
Please post any details you might have.

This is one of the proven ways of getting students under the spell of antisocial elements, a small tiff in public is usually utilized by these elements as a BIG dhabba on reputation of college 'name' and then students are cajoled into using violent means. And few unfortunate ones are caught by authorities.
What follows is regular visits to "Boss" junta, trying to get bail, going to court, looking for political influence. This re-enforces the 'Boss' and 'Don' status of few individuals.
I have seen it happen with each and every batch in my four years in college.

I request all ex-students who have been through a similar grind to come out and guide the current students on the ills of getting involved in antisocial activity of any kind.

the only way we can stop the students to perform these hooliganistic acts is to stop ragging in the college. Freshers, from day one are brain washed into thinking that whatever seniors say is right and whatever they say the juniors shall do not knowing the consequences of their actions.

The word "unity" which is mentioned during times such as these is an excuse to bring upon reinforcements. And thats what clearly happened.
