Another ex-student speaks

This was posted as a comment

Whatever is going on is really bad. i passed out last year and this would be right to say that whatever happened when our batch was there. When we joined the college Dr.P.K.Chande was new director at that time. Everything was going well. Ragging, corruption every-thing was in control and even after being form a ragging prone state. i did not face any physical ragging. Even education standard improved those days because Mr. Chande tried to make it open for everyone. Then something happened in center and Mr. Chande was gone. The news came on all the channels and we were really sad. Then started what you can the era what can be called as worst ers for college.
Then Dr. Syan became the acting director. To quote one event he came to hosel no 4 when i was in second year and he asked is this the hostel of third year. What can you expect from such a person who don't know where his students live. Mr. Chande came to meet us almost everyday when we were in first year.
Then i heard the the name our biggest name a black spot on our college Mr. Sanjeev Saxena. I sware i never heard of this person before that. He got all the contracts. People praise him like anything. Mr. Rajpoot is a big fan of Mr. Saxena. then everything started to go haywire. We had a gneral ragging in second year which did not happened in first year. You should have jugad to get things done after that.
By the time i was in third year. I think the new recruit was done in this year. They recruited people like Junaid Raheem, Bro of rajpoot and so many of siblings and relatives of previous faculty. If you want to know anything about these guys just be at mata mandir at evening and they will be standing with some of your so called "Don" friends. i remember one day i was there and Mr. sanjeev Saxena came there all people rushed to him. Sanju boss!!!........some of then fell to his feet.really shameful. Felt like he is GOD or what.
On those days G.T. was very often. Sometimes when you are in the class profs. is not coming to the class or sometimes this new recruits. What will they teach you if they do not know anything. I can teach far better than they teach so the interest in studies was gone. Papers for major exams was available for them. I remember mechanical and I.T. people getting papers on the eve of exams.
Then started out Campus Placement. Against our all expectations Mr. M.K> Gupta was demoted and new TPO was Aruna Saxena. This woman does not have any manners at all. How can she talk to any corporate person at all. Once i remeber she called to HP and said -"we use your printers" that is how she knows the companies. Once my friend got no of Cisco by his friend and asked it call this company. that woman said i don't know the company and did not call it. TCS was the first company. People say that they took bribe also for that. I don't know how much is truth in that. Then again all the bunch of mass recruiters and at the end they posted the flag this year campus was great. The same companies recruited from LNCT(a private college of bhopal) and in same amount. Now i am in corporate world and i know that companies wish to go but all you need to di is call them at least. We deserve far better campus than we got.

Then we were in Final year. So these we had habit of all the things. Fees shot up by 8k Rs. p.a. but this could be justified. By that time we had got our new frak director " Dr. K.S. Pandey" want to know his full name just visit his office. You will hear so many stories about him. This guy is complete insane and a puppet in the hands of saxena. He will always emphasize on dress code etc. never on studies. In seventh sem i remember i attended only one class of one subject and very few of others.
then came the eight semester and the monster installed by college MIS. they spend a lot of money on that just to make sure that you attend all the classes. Anyway we attende all the classes in last sen. Then came the convocation. It was said to done after the sem exams. but nevertheless as usual it was postponed.
There end my college days.
Infact it is good to see that these news came to papers.

Buch Report

Does any one have a copy of Buch Report and recommendations?
Please mail the same to savemact@gmail.com/savemanit@gmail.com, We will publish the same for all to view.

The story from other side...

I got this mail from anonymous source. This seems to be a reply from one of the faction being accused of corruption. I request you all to comment on the same.

Its really bad to see that having passed out as MACTIAN and being perfectly taught in MACT we fail to see that the things being talked about of our institute are on a false basis.I have gone through Mr. Buch report and I personally find it strange ,the fact being that MANIT is continuously being rated higher and higher. This year 6 new B.Tech courses have been started and everyone is busy in developing these courses along with the director and administration. Now the institute is having courses in B.Tech as well as in M.Tech as per IITs. This is the best thing, which the institute has done and will be very helpful in getting IIT status.

I am well aware of the ongoing court case of Dr. Ashutosh Sharma against Asst. Prof. Savita Raje and Rekha Jain of Architecture Department in the high court regarding seniority and promotion.I met him many times and I found him to be of dynamic personality. I feel that is why he is Dean Administration and HOD as well. It is his efforts and the efforts of the present visionary Director of this institute that MHRD has started thinking of making our intitute an IIT. Friends I personally ask you all as we all are working in Multinational Organisation that a person with higher capabilities can become senior to the person who is just senior and having no capabilities. Thus is it his mistake to accept the post of Dean Administration just because he is junior to Prof Gayatri Agnihotri, Prof Ganga Agnihotri and Prof R.P. Singh etc.Just think on this line.

So a group of Professors are of course jealous and acting negatively against him. Unfortunately as a result of this jealousy they intend to defame MANIT. This is really saddenning. I am reading lot of mails reacting on Mr. Buch report. I ask you who is Mr. Buch? Are we so weak to just believe all what is being shown to us? No we are MACT ians and we will not believe on rumors and false moves. Is it not possible that Mr. Buch became party with Savita Raje and a group of annoyed professors and acted one sided and commented negative on prof. Asutosh Sharma without verifying the truth. We being learned Engineers and Mactian should not believe all this nonsense.

How it is possible that without undergoing all the procedures and formalities laid down by Govt. of India, construction work can be allotted to anybody. Every year there is a audit by Center Audit Deptt. I have gone through the truth and I found that in 2006-07 the firm S.S. Construction has works of Approx. 2 Crores and not of 6.0 Crores. We all know that in every Govt/Semi Govt organizations there are specific 5-7 contractors doing all the works of that organizations. You can see such examples in PWD, PHE Municipal Corporation or Capital Projects or any Development authorities in India. If contractor is being awarded a work through all legal procedures with lowest rate of contract then what is the problem? Work may be done by S.S. Construction or by Firm Chandwani builders or Bansal construction or any other firm, how does it matters when the procedure is as per rules and regulations and all the accounts have been verified by the audit committee. It is really shameful on Mr. Buch part. It itself reflects that he has made one-sided report.

I know 60 faculty members were recruited two year back through a prescribed selection committee constituted by Govt. of India having 2 subject experts from various IITs, NITS and others from AICTE & UGC. How can a person whom so ever he is, singly comments on the procedures of selection committee? Institute had done commendable job by recruiting new faculties. The institute needs 80 more new faculty members to be recruited this year. Students are getting educations through contract faculty instead of regular faculty. If you talk about relatives of faculty members in this institute, then we all must be aware of three sisters-Prof. Ganga Agnihotri, Prof. Geeta Agnihotri  and Prof. Gayatri Agnihotri are doing job in this institute. We know that Prof. Siddiqui who is husband of Prof. Gayatri Agnihotri also retired as professor and husband of their fourth sister Prof.R.N. Dubey is also working in Physics department since very long time. Like this many examples can be seen . Prof G. Dixit in Applied Mechanics and his wife in Chemistry Deptt, Asst Prof Tripta thakur in Electrical Deptt. and her husband Mukul kulshrestha in Civil Deptt., Asst. Prof Manmohan Kapshe and Asst. Prof. Charu kapshe both brother and sister are working in Architecture Deptt since 1992, Prof Anil sharma in civil Deptt. and his wife Anupama Sharma in Arch. Deptt. and her father Prof Khurasia got retired from Mechanical Deptt., Prof. Telang and his son, Prof Rawtani Ex-Dean  and his son Asst..Prof.Lavit rawtani, Prof Sanjay Soni in applied Mechanics and his father Prof L.L. Soni, Prof Meenu chawla HOD CS Deptt and her father Late Prof. S.C. Jain, Asst.Prof.Namita shrivastava of maths deptt. is daughter of Mr.K.N.Shrivastava Ex-Principal of MACT and many many more. They all are working in this institute since so long and they have taught us all. Now why the question of teachers being relatives is arising since last two years after the recruitment of the regular teachers were made. This is ridiculous. Why cant be a son/daughter in the same profession in which his father is ! Why cant be son, daughter of the teacher can opt her carrier as teacher in the same Institute. All this defamation is I think production of the minds of a group of teachers of the institute who are working negatively and having their own intrestin acting so.

It is very surprising to note that all our senior teachers who are behind this defamation are not at all doing teaching. New recruited faculties are doing all teaching very well along with contract faculties . The load of teaching is being with new faculty. Hey guys may be through this mail they will start teaching instead of playing politics. Mr. Buch so called IAS himself must be having some political agenda behind this which he has implemented.

Madam Savita Raje who is running a NGO with Mr. Buch, which is not only illegal but also against the ethics of teachers. She should spend atleast some time in teaching. You must know one more fact that Mr.Buch submitted his report in june end. You all will be surprised to know that Madam Savita Raje when she was about to loose the Case in high court against Prof Ashutosh Sharma, she filed a caviet asking the favor of Buch report and asked  the court that in the Buch report the matter is connected to her,so please do not give stay or something against that report, when no body even Chairman or the Director was aware of the contents of the report officially. It is very clear that she and her NGO made the report. This is a conspiracy of a group of teachers of institute itself who are defaming MANIT in their own intrest and out of mere jealousy. Mr Buch acted like puppet of this group. In the same NGO present editor Shri A Khandelkar of Danik Bhaskar is the member. Now it is obvious why Dainik Bhaskar is publishing such nonsense about MANIT day after day. Please open Architects website to know more of Madam Raje and Madam rekha Jain.

You will be surprised to know how can national newspaper publish one-sided report so openly without taking views of other side. Newspaper editor neither verified the details with the director.

It was really surprised that versions of Dr. Chande were published who was even rejected for the post of lecturer in MACT when he applied long back. No. views of the present director was taken for the article of Dainik Bhaskar who has served 35 years in NIT Trichi and has vast teaching and research experience before being selected in MANIT.  Director Sirs wife is Ex Director NIT-Kashmir and presently working as director in Sant Longowala Institute and also being selected as Director NIT-Raipur. How can literate person compare Dr. Chande with Prof Dr. K.S. Pandey? I feel we should not believe on nonsense fake news without verifying the facts and condemn Mr.Buch report and don’t promote support to any type of defaming act.i know that classes are going well and result is excellent and students are getting 100% placement & what I am saying mean I really mean it.  We should all join our hands to discourage these NGOs who are defaming the institute. There is one NGO run be LecturerLaxmi Kumre and her husband. When administration found he M.Tech thesis totally copied, the director caught her and Senate rejected her work then her husband Mr. Sharad Kumre started spreading nonsense things about the institute. Even his PIL was rejected by high court for the same. He is defaming our institute for his own interest. Kindly send your views what MANITian should do against these NGOs. Now to run their NGOs they have started asking money from MACTina for their own purpose.

MANIT is healthy and there is need to cure this particular group of annoyed teachers and outsiders so as to SAVE MANIT.

The real culprits are Ganga,Gayatri, Sh.&SmtKumre , Savita raje and Mr. B.R.Nayak(who had been terminated for 8 years from the institute in the case of molestation of a minor girl student).

We must do something against all this if we are all powerful enough in our respective field..We must question how can a national newspaper publish such news base on onesided M.N.Buch report.

Be careful because time is not far when you will receive a mail for the same from ENEMIES OF OUR INSTITUTE.

MANIT is Ranked 4th among all NITs(Times of India),more than 100% placement of students,95% attendance(for the 1st time in history of MACT),Organizing Technical and Cultural events in very large scale,Achieved Golden jublee conduction of NASA, 6 new B.Tech courses,14 new M.Tech program and MBA courses, what more progress do we expect from administration which is working day and night to give IIT status to MANIT.What I plea from my seniors and juniors to do something constructive rather than distructive. Please  save the future of our juniors and MANIT

Do you know...

that Sanjeev Saxena's elder sister Archana Saxena has been appointed as the Librarian at MANIT.
It requires a Master's degree in Library Science and several years of experience before ascension to the Librarian's position. That's for an ordinary mortal.
But I guess, if one is Sanjeev Saxena's sibling, an elder one at that, all one requires is a 8 week certificate course in arranging books, and the Librarian's seat awaits you. With high salary & perks that go with it. Oops! Almost forgot. She does have the most suitable qualification..SS Heil Hitler!
I can recite ABRACADABRA.. If someone is listening I offer myself as the most suitable candidate for Dumbledore's post, now that the poor soul is no more.

Some Introspection required

MANIT or MACT as we knew it, has a long culture of corruption. It has been a Bimaru college for a long time. I am sure this will ruffle quite a few feathers, and I will get brickbats too, but for a change let’s try introspection and see all the issues in proper perspective.

1. Ragging -> I am not sure what is the current status of the same, but MACT used to be famous for one of the worst ragging. Ragging has been justified by saying "it builds camaraderie", "makes people smart", "makes you tough to last in a tough city like Bhopal" etc.. etc.. . Have we ever thought why colleges like NIT Trichy, Suratkhal etc.. manage the same without physical ragging. Why do these students have more exposure, are more apt to fit into industry, have more number of entrepreneurs.

2. Co-operative mess -> This is the first taste of corruption and power a student gets. It is an open secret that Mess Committee has a ball for a month that they are in power, from getting special treatment to earning kickbacks. Once the tenure is over the other Mess committees try to outdo the previous ones. The amounts involved are substantial for student life.

3. Panga Culture -> I don't know when this started, but apparently MACT has a 'name' to preserve in Bhopal, MACT has always been involved in acts of vandalism, just do a query on police cases against MACT students and you will find a long list of offenders. But more often than not there is no conviction. Bhopal lives on out of court compromises. But why do students get involved. Answer is very simple yet very disturbing "They don't know better".
The rush of living on the edge, being the Boss, Don, having a whole group of buddies at your beck and call to rampage any part of the city, feels good initially. But these students fade out very quickly, if not for the support of outside elements.
Recently these guys are being taken care of, their cases fought in court, getting lenient treatment from local lawmen, all thanks to nexus of college politics. As a result more and more students fall for this dark side.
Tales of famous goons are passed on from one batch to another as if it is something to be proud of.

4. Ineffective Faculty -> Present Faculty in MANIT is no good. this is part of a bigger problem nationwide, where teaching is not considered a lucrative career anymore by the best brains. In today's context when educational institutes are moving towards offering consultancy, filing IPRs, contributing to community with the research on low cost solutions, MANIT is a dumping ground for central funds. No progress is being made whatsoever on academic front. Making more buildings, computer centers, libraries, labs is not going to help, if you have no one to utilize them properly.

Inspite of all this, majority of students do well in their lives, but the point to note here is that MANIT does get the cream, when it comes to brains. But a lot of these ex-MACTians are left with a bitter taste when it comes to college. And hence the reason for not having an active Alumni.

Solution to all this is fairly complex and long haul, because what we are aiming at is overhaul of the complete system. Taking out someone who is the perpetrator now, is not going to make a difference in long run. I am listing down a few points that need to be considered.

1. Fight the immediate menace with a mix of RTI and PIL

2. Have networked alumni with stake holders from student/faculty/Alumni. It is easy to sit back and pass comments, but very different to actually do something towards making our institute a better place

3. Involvement of Alumni in Mentor programs for present students. Accomplished alumni members should be tapped to guide and counsel students towards career goals, lectures on the advances in present technology and what is required in the industry would also help

4. Make faculty accountable and administration transparent, goals should be set for research projects and the same should be appraised based on results. A special focus on industry-institute relationship is need of the hour.

Another thing to add here, I don't think our college needs financial assistance, what we need is people who care about the college and are willing to do "shram daan" to bring it on course. It would be a long drawn battle, but as Alumni are we geared up to make a change?

Another Faculty member speaks

This was posted as a comment to "Dr N.D. Mittal speaks out". But I guess this needs more visibility. So posting it again.

Hi Everyone,

I am writing an anonymous mail, as I am also a TEACHER at MANIT, but would not like to reveal my name, for fear of the goons:

Dr Mittal has given only a few facts. Here are some other amazing facts:

1. 2 Years back in bulk 65 faculty members were selected. Those having degrees from abroad as well as from IITs, and having Ph.D.s were all rejected, while our own students ( mostly MANIT pass outs), who had the distinction of earning Supplementaries or were were outright failures, and were mere B.Techs in several cases, were selected. Ashutosh Sharma and Sanjeev Saxena charged 7-8 lakhs per candidate. Those who were the near and dear ones (brothers/sisters/brother-in –law etc) were the only ones who were given some discount.
2. These same teachers were then given prime posts such as institute engineer, STEP Director, wardens etc, even when they were too junior, and despite lack of any merit whatsoever. The result was that huge money started pouring from hostels, institute works etc into the coffers of the mafia.
3. The wardens then persuaded a section of students to form a goonda group. They would go to Kotra and ransack the poor vendors, would create other nuisance such as Chakka jaam/Rasta Roko etc. on the behest of wardens. Free Daaru is being supplied to this group of students in the hostels.
4. Let us now examine the happenings in the girls hostel. You must please note that Sanjeev Saxena, a pass-out goonda, is not just the owner of 3 private colleges in Bhopal, not just acontracter who has earned the 80% of all contracts at MANIT worth several Crores, but significantly he is also a dalal who supplies women to political dignitaries.Last year, a group of girls were forced to attend a party in the honour of the chairman of MANIT, Mr Jhalani ( again a politician). Th eparty was held at MANIT-Guest house, and the girls retuned the next mornoing to the girls hostel. The warden of the hostel is Anshu Gupta who is sister-in-law of Sanjeev Saxena. Can you imagine to what extent the girls can be exploited and blackmailed?

I would request you to please do something, not just to save the institute, but more importantly, save at least 40 (as the goonda teachers will retire after 40 years) generations of students who would come here thinking that MANIT is a National level institute. For God’s sake please do something for all of us. We will be glad to share the papers and information with you all. We can be contacted through this blog.

It is realy surprising that inspite of all the media coverages about the involvement of Prof. Ashutosh Sharma in so many scams, he is acting Director at present as the regular Director Dr. K. S. Pandey has gone somewhere for more than one week and handed over the charge to such a corrupt and very junior professor of the institute.
Also after passing 6 days from the declaration of the HRD minister no action has been taken. All of us put pressure for the action as per law so that the culprits can be put behind the bars.
Please do something for your beloved institute; MACT (now MANIT).

What has been mentioned in these reports is 100% correct. I have first hand info from people who have paid to get selected as faculty.
Sanjeev Saxena has been notorious since was in college , was junior to me
As far as corruption at MANIT is concerned, it has been going on since ages. Its another story that it is always swept under the carpet.
People have spoken about talking to Arjun singh and he taking acton , forget it.He will probably take money from both Ashutosh Sharma and Sanjeev Saxena and hush up the matter as he has done in the past.
None of the faculty members at MACT now or in the past had caliber of teaching. They were more interested in doing their side business in trading /stocks

Student community should trow out from the campus such a unsocial element (Sanjeev Saxena)as institute administration has been also hijacked by him due some immoral, unethical and unsocial teachers who got entry with the help of Sanjeev Saxena and Ashutosh Sharma Gunda Party.

I feel very pround to all who were passouts from this institute, and still they thinking about to save institute from dictatorship of sanjeev saxena.

I have seen the level of teacher who got recruit in 04-05, They are way below standard, only thing that can save this institute is give all this details to media and pressurize GOI for the strict action. Bcoz son of Arjun singh(MHRD) is also involve in these scams.

Quick solution may be:
If anyone who knows a reporter from Tehelka, should ask them to do Tehelka report, that will put pressure on Govt, Colleage Mgmt and bad elements.

Another solution is: Every interested faculty and students (past and present) should email to all the national news paper editors to run the report on the college matters.

Once it is in couple of news papers or Tehelka, I am hopeful of cleaned system and produly say again that I am a 1995 passout from MACT Bhopal.

The things at MANIT are really sad. All the right thinking faculty and students must come together and cure this cancer of Sanjeev saxena and Ashutosh Sharma. Someone so rightly used the perfect word for this nexus " CANCER"! All the faculty who are yes men and yes women to this nexus are comfortable, and all those, very few, who refuse to shake hands or be friends with sanjeev saxena and ashutosh Sharma, are getting a real bad time. Ashutosh Sahrma has manipulated most of the records, with due help from his allies, KK Dhote and the like. He has been holding all important positions, Dean Admn, Deputy Director, etc.
Either we faculty leave the college, but then why laeve the institute we have served with great devotion, in the hands of goondas and very bad people? We will fight them and show them their position. Students, please stop getting used, teachers . please stop being cowards and scared. Why be scared of already scared people? Come and fight for the right.

Dr. N.D Mittal speaks out

I am Dr.N.D.Mittal, Professor Applied Mechanics Department MANIT Bhopal as well as 1979 alumnai. My views are as follows:

Whatever has been published in news papers and contents of enquiry done by Mr.M.N.Buch are one hundred percent correct and even many more. I have not seen this much corruption in my last 33 years at MANIT Bhopal. Dr.Ashutosh Sharma and Mr.Sanjeev Saxena has almost purchased the institute in their hands. Students are not getting the quality teaching and faculty those are honest and hard worker are not able to dishcharge their duties. Faculty members are tortured and terrorised by these peoples or they also become a part of them. Hopefully many almunai might be knowing me very well during their teaching days but I am not able to deliber the lectures properly, the students who take my help are tortured from the top because I resist the administration at every corner for their mistakes and corruption. There are many more faculty members who wants to enhance the image of MANIT apart from me but administration does not permit us do not give any chance to us.
Dr.Lavit Rawtani Assistant Professor in CSE Deptt caught a corrupted faculty member during M.Tech examination for cheating and he was suspended for last 9 months. Now everyone can imagine the state of MANIT.

Dr.N.D.Mittal

It is quite disheartening that things have gone to a state that one of the most respected profs of our time speaks out and is coming out with views in this regard.
Dr. Mittal has always been revered in the highest pedigree by all of us and has been one of the most decent faculty the college has ever seen and never known to get involved in petty matters.
A comment like the above from him means that things are really serious and this is a matter of grave concern.
Not sure how this can be solved but we can at least appreciate the gravity of the problem and bring it to the outer world.

Praise to Dr. N D Mittal, who took a bold step to speak out about this menace.

This Sanjeev Saxena guy was a parasite when we were around, and sounds like he still is. Never had my respect, never will.

He had a group of students aligned towards him during our time as well. It's easy for students to be lured into all the wrong things for petty gains. For most students coming from average families, all that free booze and godfatherly protection may seem more than one could ask for. And at that age, most fail to judge things well.
Fall in Sanjeev Saxena's trap, and he could definitely make you his personal chauffeur. Students need to think of their long term plans, instead of this short lived joy that he can offer in return for doing all sorts of unlawful acts.
Count my support in any way I can remotely.

Dear All..A senior professor like Dr.N.D.Mittal has every right to feel sad at the turn of events. However lets not forget that this goon Sanjeev Saxena was not allowed to enter the institute premises when Prof.J.P.Dwivedi and subsequently Prof.P.Krishnamachar were the director of the institute.
He could not dare to enter the campus for fear of police action against him as these two gentlemen were very strict. He got entry in the campus only when an ex-director and a very corrupt person Dr.Sharma was the director of the institute.Dr.Sharma was related to Mr.Shankar Dayal Sharma, former president of the country. He signed the appointment letters of Mrs.Aruna Saxena(the wife of Sanjeev Saxena)and Mrs.Anupama sharma(the daughter of Dr.H.K.Khurasia,a professor in Mechanical Engg Deptt.)on his last day in the office. The moment Aruna saxena joined the institute this goonda sanjeev saxena got an official entry in the campus. So Dr.Sharma was a big and real culprit.Later on this goonda started looking for people who were hungry for money or power and started galvanising them to increase his strength.Guys like ashutosh sharma, sps rajput,r.k.baghel and soni of applied mechanics are part of this dirty group and work day in & day out for sanjeev saxena. They make a lot of money through the corrupt practices and pass it on to sanjeev saxena.Same is the case with junaid rahim, satish pal rajput, alok singh ,pushyamitra mishra, rishi singh(this chap gave 9 lacs to be selected as a faculty throgh waiting list and is now recovering his money through electrical maintainence as he has been made the incharge for electrical maintainence). All these guys were selected in 2005.They are highly incompetent and corrupt to the core. Why Prof.Mittal is silent on these guys?Is it lack of courage? He should talk about them openly if he wants the institute to recover from this sad state of affairs. He will get full support from so many people, except corrupt and self-serving people like gajendra dixit,vk khare,
h.k.khaira,m.k.gupta,sapre,sushil shrivastava, arvind mittal, pardasani, etc. These people are either very corrupt or selfish to the core or both. They should also be shown the door otherwise one sanjeev saxena will go and another sanjeev saxena will take over by extending favours to such people.

Its really true that Sanjeev Saxena is a parasite for the MANIT We have to get some way to save the institute only long discussions in the group will not going to work.

Sambit Chatterji, Director Recruitment. ING said...

Well this is to the one who is trying to be coward and have written in as if on yahoo chat...

The jobs are not because Mr Suxena the market is on the fling and its going to be down because of US sub prime and other stuff in next few year.. So this will get naturalized. Looking at demand every NIT will get huge response just because when you get there you have proven the stuff.. it does not matter to most of the companies what you learn there but the attitude towards your work...

Well do fare comparison...
look at some of the NITs doing better than our trichy and surathkal to tell you the truth nothing different there is just the reputation that bring s better student (yes you heard right) there.

Goods companies!!! VJIT Mumbai gets far better companies than your...with better perk too...And they deny going out for next level of education...

Don't think narrow.. All mactian will definitely get job (if you are not stupid)...

The issue here is If you donlt stop it now this will get down to students quota and increased fees and whatever possible...You might be sucking somebody’s D**K over bullshit... You got 2 jobs you are good and you are lucky.....

Being in industry anfdin field of recruitment for so many years I will tell you nothing in Mact has attracted companies there. Its just your PET score at which you go there and the market being demanding....No NIT guy stays jobless once out without job as well it just because you go there on talent...(Exempt few. Lets not get into to other controversy now.

If u are manit alumni..and wanna fight against corruption then pls do that but dont u think u are hurting placement prospects of ur juniors, dont u think its affecting students,if u wanna do something ,file a public interest litigation. Why are u using Net for defaming manit which is ultimately going to affect students career. and why are u allowing malicious comments on your blog,it looks like some people have problem with few individuals and ur blog is acting as vent for their frustrations. atleast dont allow foul comments

The Ashutosh Sharma+sanjeev saxena nexus is trying to project and beleive that they are trying hard to acheive laurels for MANIT and some ruffled professors are trying to pull them back. Well, they can play this game, but the truth will prevail in the end. So, do worry about that end, because when you victimize innocent people, drastically try to snub talent, punish talented teachers, and when you play dirty politics with students, the God Himself comes down to punish.

people
i am saxena's classmate. I know that person and also Ashutosh Sharma.

One interesting thing, everybody has written comments anonymously.

Mr Mittal, if I remember correctly was the Proctor in MACT, and someone should ask him what did he do in his times. These people were hand in glove in the politicians at that time. Just because his days are over and some one has taken over his role, he is crying.

On the other hand ,I regret my days from MACT, it was never a teaching institution and is still not a teaching institute . It may be ranked high but in my opinion, its a pity to see the institute.
On the other hand look at Saxena's college. It's private funded and it has a budget of not more than 5% of MACT budget. It's doing better relatively.
So the problem is not saxena, Saxena is just an person who is visible. The problem is the faculty & decision maker in MACT. They have the power and choose not to exercise.

SO please dont blame saxena & ashutosh, blame yourself and stop whining

Input from one of the student..

Hello sir ..

I am not too sure abt things being blown out of proportion .. yea it does happen here and there in that article too .. but i guess that article in Dainik Bhaskar is just the tip of the iceberg .. There are a lot more things happening in the college i suppose .. though i have no idea how the college was in the past, making out from what my seniors say, i can make out that inspite of director pandey sir 's efforts, the college is on a downward spiral ..

Quoting a humanities department faculty who came to my class .. "In the last three or four years, the college has been on a continuous downward spiral" .. These were the exact words spoken.. putting it as told .. "speaking with the director is like a monologue .. Only he speaks .. he never takes others' views into account" .. I am not sure how much of this is really true ..

"As per report, Institute is one of the best example in Appointments of RELATIVES ( around 50 member of a family) . "
Sorry to say that this is true i suppose .. the paper has quoted with a lot of examples even .. The teaching standards have become really low .. Quality of the teachers is really really low these days .. Not really NIT standard I suppose .. (Though this could be because of the tremendous influx of contract faculty with minimal experience) ..

Recently there was a lot of controversy when Dr.Sushil Mittal sir resigned on the stage during the oathtaking ceremony from his post of Dean - Student Affairs just because no civil dept student found a place in the student council ... Things I can tell you are quite bad in our college ..

I can tell u that i agree with Dr.R.K.Patra sir (ex-faculty MANIT) that a total overhaul of the faculty is required ..
Input i.e. student - fortunately students' quality in MANIT are the best. They needs proper guidance.
Guidance only possible, if the teacher is competent.(2) The process i.e. teacher. You know better the
quality of teacher reigning in MANIT. Except politics and politics, most of the teachers are having no
market value. They want to save their skins by doing all the nuisance activities. .. As a current student,I can tell you that this is totally 100% true .. Half the contract faculty hardly know the stuff required .. Highly incompetent is the least i can tell ( though with a heavy heart) .. They lack in communication with the students ..

(3) Output i.e. placement. The students are getting placement by their own merit, and what I feel,
Institutes contribution is almost nil, except inviting some good companies. You know that NIT
students are the cream, and selected corporates prefer to visit campus.Since I was associated in placement, most of the
corporates feedback was surprising. We have the best infrastructure, but most of the faculties does not know to use and guide the students. The most important thing is is the root cause of collapse of MANIT machinery is involvement of self-interest of few so-called alumni in the administration. They know the weak points of Director, faculty and encashing the same by influencing their power.

The first part of this is true i suppose .. N i have absolutely no idea abt the later part ..

Hoping and waiting in earnest for the improvement in the state of our institution ...

Whatever is going on had been going on it past too.Only reason was that we all were too busy to take care of that,And this has made what our college is today. So we all are responsible for our Chlata hai Attitude of that time.Had we stood up at that time, this situation would not have come.

Now when MANIT is having a chance to become IIT, these thing have surfaced (pretty amazing timing). And all the IT ppl had jumped in to give their valuable(?) thoughts on the topic(lot of time ..huh )
Don't u think these all things woulf hardly make any difference on grass rrot level rather than negative publicity of our college.Which would definitely hamper the prospect og MANIT becoming an IIT.
My only suggestion is to go and act don't just be a part of mob in mud slinging.
This is result of what u have done(rather what u have not done by not standing against at that time). So we should be shameful rather than feeling proud.

Message from Abhay Singh Dubey Boss...

Dear Friends,

I don't think you can cry foul on this issue. In India we are all very fond of this "Jugad". And elsewhere in the world this very same thing goes by the name of "Networking". And if all of us have come out of the very same system and still are worthwhile people, the system is not really that bad. However, if things really seem to be getting out of hand, then a sustained complaint campaign with regulator of autonomous bodies will address the problem adequately. What i would like to know from some recent pass outs is that whether things are really so bad as to necessitate this passionate discussion?

With regards,
asd
